Each cycle has a series of water fills and drains for washing and rinsing dishes. Then the lower arm rotates and circulates water. This is followed by a pause and a slightly different sound as the upper arms spray water. If you listen closely, you will hear the change in sound as the wash action switches from one arm to the other. First, the dishwasher fills with water covering the filter area. Water is then pumped through the filter and spray arms. Soil particles go down the drain as the water is pumped out and replaced with clean water. Frigidaire’s 50 pints-per-day dehumidifier is capable of continuous operation when the unit is located near a suitable drain. Effortless Humidity Control allows you to control the exact percentage of humidity in your room. The SpaceWise portable design includes a top handle, integrated side handles and caster wheels making it easy to move your unit from room to room.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Patrick Herbst 2.0 out of 5 stars Only hear fan, compressor makes hardly any noise at all. - attractive design Cons: - Terrible engineering. The humidity sensor must be placed in the reservoir, because as soon as the fan clicks off, the humidity readout immediately starts climbing quickly. I have mine set to 50%. This causes the unit to run until it reaches 45%, then it will click of, and remain off until it reaches 55%. The poor sensor placement in the design makes the unit think it is 55% when it truly isn't. This has been determined by placing hygrometers around the room and seeing that the dehumidifier is always running up like crazy. So it will click off at 45, then 10 min later it thinks its 55, the unit will click on, and immediately when the air flow is resumed, the sensor sees that its not as high as it thought, and you'll see the readout drop quickly back down. So the unit is constantly cycling on and off. This unit could actually use a ton less energy if the sensor was placed in a location to get more accurate readings (maybe in a isolated chamber with vents directly outside of the unit, instead of INside the unit where all the water is collecting?) Very frustrating that you can't trust the unit manage itself efficiently.

I'm tempted to a some kind of humidity switch to operate it more efficiently myself. Giving only 2 stars now (down from the original 3). Also adding another photo showing 51% on hygrometer and 72% (!!) on the dehumidifier.Check out the newest photo to see how the fan is used.It worked well when I got it for about two weeks, then started intermittently malfunctioning--the unit would shut off, but when unplugged and replugged in it worked for awhile. Eventually the working periods became very short, and now it won’t even light up the display, although it does flicker slightly. After phone calls to the support phone number, I was told I would have to wait for a letter authorizing me to receive a refund. That was a couple of weeks ago, and several follow up phone calls have not led to any such letter. I suspect I am not going to get any satisfaction on this. If I had bought it from a brick and mortar store I could take it back, but having bought it online I’m pretty much at the mercy of the company it appears. Since I needed a functioning unit, I purchased a GE model this time, from a Home Depot. Surprise--it’s apparently a Frigidaire with a GE label on it. So I’m not optimistic that it will work any better, but at least I can take this one back to Home Depot rather than deal with Frigidaire. I am not sure if there are any good, inexpensive dehumidifiers out there, I may have to resort to a commercial heavy duty unit.It stained the plastic parts in the capture tank and made the water yellow. I figured it must be coolent. Frigidaire bought it back and I purchased another one at Best Buy thinking it had to be the paticular one I got from Amazon. The new one is starting to do the very same thing and will be returned to Best Buy soon.Excellent features. Works great! On continuous mode it automatically dehumidifies it reached the humidity level you set and stops dehumidifying (including fan).

I tested it so far at maintaining 45% humidity while being placed relatively centrally, near an intake duct (HVAC), with a fan setting of high, medium, and low. I believe humidifiers are more efficient when the fan is at a higher setting, but the noise level is also higher. I live in a humid area and during the summer my place was resting at 60% humidity without dehumidification. I feel like it did an excellent job. I took a few hours to reduce the humidity level. I run my HVAC fan continuously, so it affect the whole house humidity very quickly. Because of the humidity, I found was setting the thermostat to a lower temperature than needed.Got F0 code less than a year after purchase. Only thing frigidaire says about this code is to check input voltage, if not, call them for service. Other than that, the product is great, appart from the fan that is always working and making some noise even if the compressor is not working (bad for sleeping). The water container has a lot of small corners that helps fungus grow (dont know if it's the right word to describe it). It has to be washed carefully every now and thenIt can fill up with water in less than a day on during the highest humidity days, but that is to be expected and shows how well this product works. It's a little loud, even on low fan speed, I had it for a while in the same room I was watching TV and I had to move it, but if you tuck it away somewhere it is barely noticeable. We only have to run it every second day, because in one day it sucks a whole bucket of water out of the air. It's a bit loud, so we run it in the small foyer. (We have it on low) To get around the noise, we run it in the daytime when we are at work. No problem. It actually keeps the entire second level of our whole townhouse dry. We live in the pacific northwest, so there was so much moisture in the air that it would fill up the tracks of the windows. Now I know why there was mold in the skylights when we bought this place.

Maybe it's just because I've never had a dehumidifier before, but wow, the quality is first rate. Fit and finish is clean, controls are simple, it's easy to empty the bucket. If you empty it while it's been running though its still leaking some water, so I just put a small towel down and sop up the water before I put the bucket back in. I bought a used Danby for the garage, it's a lot quieter than that, but of course you can't compare a used one I guess.I did quite a bit of research before landing on the Frigidaire and decided to go with the 50 pint. The unit took longer than expected to arrive (likely due to the high demand of them this summer) but was easier than expected to pick up and carry. The unit is incredibly easy to use -- it really is plug in and start. The instructions state that the unit needs to run for 3-4 days on factory setting (which reads CO on the LED screen) before you can adjust the humidity level. We have been running it for just over 2 weeks and it is still on the CO setting, but we have unplugged it a couple times to move it around. The unit comes with an internal water tank and will beep quite loud when it is full. Importantly, this tank is NOT 50 pints, so it did fill up very quickly (about 3 hours). We decided to run a continuous drain hose and purchased a 15 foot standard garden hose, which directly attached to the unit on the side. The hose needs to drain downwards, so we built a shelf to raise the dehumidifier up, and cut the drainage end of the hose to keep it from levelling out. We have the unit running in our basement storage room, but noticed that it runs very quietly even when we are in the same room with it. I have been monitoring our electricity consumption, and it is very efficient. It has wheels for very easy movement and is surprisingly compact in size. Would be great for those with smaller spaces. Highly recommend this dehumidifier. If we ever run into an issue with it, I will make sure to update this review.

Paid a little more knowing that this is a great brand name. This appliance has been running solid for 6 months now. I attached a drain hose so it can continuously evacuate the humidity it collects down a nearby drain. The unit is quiet and efficient (cycles on and off as needed and holds the humidity at the desired level despite some very trying weather conditions). It has kept the basement dry and mould free and it has not let us down. I definitely recommend this product to anyone. Consumers should check with recalling firms for further details. Recalled model numbers and date codes are listed below. The brand name and the pint capacity are printed on the front of the dehumidifier. The model number and date code are printed on a sticker on the back, front or side of the unit. The dehumidifiers are white, beige, gray or black plastic and measure between 19 and 24 inches tall, 13 and 15 inches wide, and 9 and 11 inches deep.
